Galaxy tab runs on a single core processor and Google has clearly stated that Galaxy Tab does not meet the minimum requirements for Honeycomb, which is going to be the Tablet optimized version of Android. According to Bobby Cha, an expert from Samsung confirmed this by saying that the next Android update will require a dual core Cortex A9 processor to run properly. The only chipset that does this is the Nvidia Tegra 2.
Also, Google wants the next gen tablets to sport 1280×720 pixel display and current Galaxy Tab sports just 1024×600. Clearly, Google is trying to draw a bold line between the cheap Android tablets and premium ones.
