NEC LaVie Tab W has been upgraded and the new model that costs about 600 euro (same as Microsoft Surface 3) integrates an Intel Atom x7 Z8700 chip, 4GB RAM / 64GB flash storage, Windows 10, pen and keyboard dock.
NEC Lavie Tab W was launched back in mid of October 2014 and today the Japanese company has completely renewed its specifications sheet.
Updated NEC Lavie Tab W spec sheet includes a powerful processor Intel Atom x7-8700 (Cherry Trail), combined with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory expandable with a micro SD card slot. The screen packs 10.1 inches and features full HD resolution 1920 x 1200 pixels which means you get the classic 16:10 along with Wacom digitizer with 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity that allows you to do input via stylus.
The stylus is included in the package and but there is no stylus silo. However you can place the pen vertically as shown in the picture below. The keyboard features full-sized keys and its touchpad is very large too.
You also get USB 3.0 port and HDMI video output along with 8 megapixel rear camera, 2 MP front facing camera, 802.11n Wi-fi module, GPS and Bluetooth. Battery life is estimated to be around 11.5 hours on a single charge which is about 90 minutes more than the outgoing bay trail laptop model. Operating system on this new 2015 NEC Lavid Tab W is Windows 10.
Complete set of keyboard and stylus will cost you around 625 euro which same as Microsoft Surface 3 that comes with 2 gigabytes of memory and without any accessories. Unfortunately, the NEC Lavie Tab W will be sold only in Asian markets.
